Our History
The law firm of Gordon, Dodson, Gordon & Rowlett is one of the oldest in Chesterfield County. The firm’s history dates to 1958 when Lee R. Gordon (1929 – 1987) opened his law practice. The expanding law office became Gordon, Garner & Dodson in 1967 when John E. Dodson joined the firm. Steady growth continued, and in 1980, Thomas L. Gordon, Lee’s oldest son, joined the practice and the firm name changed to Gordon, Dodson & Gordon.
The firm known today as Gordon, Dodson, Gordon & Rowlett, is reflective of the continuing partnership of Thomas L Gordon and Randy B Rowlett, who joined the firm in 1998. In addition to the partners, attorneys now associated with the firm are David S. Clements, Donald E. Gulledge, William R. Keown, Ryan T. Spetz, Todd E. Perry, Jaclyn E. Murphy, and K. Brent Jones. Our strong support staff includes one paralegal with over 40 years legal experience and eight other assistants.
Our firm is skilled in a variety of practice areas, but we primarily focus on personal injury and civil litigation, family law, traffic defense, criminal defense, real estate law, business law for small corporations, and estate matters. The bulk of our cases are in the Chesterfield County court system, but we also represent clients throughout central Virginia in Chester, Colonial Heights, Powhatan, and beyond.
The attorneys and staff at Gordon Dodson stand ready to provide you with quality legal representation with an emphasis on friendly, individual, prompt attention to your legal needs. If the issue is important to you, it is important to us. We pledge to stand with you as we work together to achieve your goal.
